Debut of George Pocheptsov Art
Monday, December 15th, 2008The International Ballet is showing George Pocheptsov’s works of art during their annual performance of ”The Nutcracker” at the Peace Center December 19-21, 2008.
Two works of art have been donated to The Brain Tumor Awareness Organization and will be auctioned off April 4th, 2009 at The Minds in Motion Arts Auction/Gala at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Downtown Greenville. The gala will begin at 5:30 and feature the auction of George Pocheptsov’s paintings. George last donated his talents to the Greenville Community through a donation to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Greenville.
The founders of The Brain Tumor Awareness Organization commissioned the artist due to his charitable nature, internationally renowned work and due to the fact that he had also been personally affected by a brain tumor-he lost his father to a brain tumor as a toddler.
Keith, a 7 year brain tumor survivor, is the co-founder of The Brain Tumor Awareness Organization, and knows first hand how a community can rally behind an effort and save someone’s life. As a volunteer for The International Ballet as a set designer and stage manager, he thought that the Ukrainian background of both the owners of The International Ballet and George Pocheptsov was a perfect match. As both are lovers of the arts and have The Houstons as a common link, it was a befitting cause to bring together in this Upstate community.
